The Corrin Science Fiction Collection is officially up for viewing!

Posted by christielouwho

For those of you now settling into another (or a brand new) year at Goucher, come up to the fourth floor of the Athenaeum to marvel at our newest displayed exhibit.

The case will be filled with science-fiction memorabilia until November, and a cart filled with suggested reading will remain next to it until the end of the exhibit.

Enjoy!

We’re in the process of filling a full-sized display case with science fiction books and artifacts in the next few weeks!
Right now we’re compiling, designing, and prepping the display case to contain many of the interesting items left to us in honor of the late Brownlee Sands Corrin, a professor of International Relations and later head of the Communications department at Goucher.
Aside from his vast (and by vast I mean close to 2,000 books and items) science fiction collection, Corrin also collected pins, signs, pamphlets, and memorabilia from political campaigns over the years. But of the huge donation, the sci-fi items have never been on display or advertised.
More updates will come of the content and premiere of the exhibit soon! High-res
